The Dream return to Atlanta needing a win to extend the WNBA Finals. Game 6 against Golden State is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, at 12:30 p.m. ET, according to State Farm Arena’s event listing.

Atlanta trails the series 3–2. A victory would force a deciding seventh game; a loss would end the Dream’s season.

Make the next pass available

Golden State’s official Game 5 recap credits its defense with forcing 17 Atlanta turnovers and converting them into 21 points. The Dream produced six points from Golden State’s turnovers.

That gap suggests a practical priority: give the ballhandler an outlet before pressure arrives. Shorter passing distances, timely cuts and a second available receiver could help Atlanta avoid having every possession depend on one difficult delivery.

Those are proposed adjustments, rather than a description of a confirmed coaching plan. Their purpose would be to move the defense before asking a scorer to attack it.

Test the help defense

Rim protection becomes harder to exploit when the defense can stay set. Atlanta should look for possessions that require the second defender to choose between protecting the lane and following a cutter or shooter.

The Dream also must resist treating every difficult possession as a reason to rush the next one. A quick shot can be useful when it is open; urgency alone does not make it a good opportunity.

Game 6 player availability remains subject to official updates. The most useful early indicator Thursday will be whether Atlanta can complete its first offensive action and still create an advantage with the second.
